How to Connect Your Ford with Amazon Alexa

Several 2022 and later Ford models, such as the Ford Bronco and the Ford F-150, come with Amazon Alexa Built-in. If you’ve just purchased a Ford vehicle equipped with Alexa, follow the steps below to set up your account and start using it.

To use Amazon Alexa, you will need: SYNC 4 or SYNC 4A, an Amazon Account, and fully activated FordPass® Connect. Instructions for enabling FordPass® are included below.

Activating Your FordPass® Connection

Step 1: Download FordPass®

Download the FordPass® app from the Apple app store or, if you own an Android device, you can find it in the Google Play Store. If you have an existing FordPass® account, log in on your mobile device.

Step 2: Connect Your Vehicle to FordPass®

• Completely turn off your vehicle.
• Open your FordPass® app.
• Tap “Add Vehicle”
• Enter or scan your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
• Name your vehicle so you can easily identify it later.

Step 3: Activate Your Vehicle

From within the FordPass® app, tap “Activate Vehicle.” Then turn your vehicle on. Tap “Allow” on your SYNC® screen when the prompt is presented. You now have a fully activated FordPass® connection. Next order of business– add Alexa.

Setting Up Amazon Alexa

Now that your vehicle is connected to FordPass®, there are six simple steps to complete the setup

• From the SYNC screen, go to Settings > Amazon Alexa
• To start the setup, tap “Get Started” or “Yes” when prompted. (The prompt will vary based on the version of SYNC in your vehicle.)
• A QR code will appear on your SYNC screen for you to scan with your mobile device. If you’re unable to scan the code, go to https://amazon.com/us/code.
• Login or create an Amazon account
• Finally, the SYNC screen will provide you with a code. Enter it on your Amazon account.

You are now fully connected to Amazon Alexa. Enjoy the ease of using voice commands to do everything from unlocking your doors to selecting your favorite music.
